EVENT | Where the Magic Happens: Tata Harper Farm (VERY PICTURE HEAVY!)

This post has been a long time coming, but many of you know that a few weeks back I had the opportunity to visit the farm where ALL Tata Harper skincare products are produced, batched and formulated. Skincare has an incredibly special place in my lipstick-filled heart and what makes this company special to me is the TRULY 100% natural formulations and the artisanal story and science behind each product. The words “natural” and “organic” are used very loosely now with regards to food and beauty products so what I love about Tata Harper products are that they have gone above and beyond to set themselves apart and add transparency to what “natural” truly means. Having each product certified by Eco Cert, the American Vegan and Vegetarian Associations as well as being made without a single drop of synthetics is already HUGE when it comes to skincare.

Wondering where this magical farm is? It’s in Vermont. Canadians, do not be ashamed to whip out your Google Maps because that’s what I had to do! Located in the east, in the Maritimes of the United States and home to apparently some of the best maple syrup and skiing out there (although my Montreal-born hubby disagrees with the maple syrup point)! The flight to Vermont was far from direct and while I failed to mention the people at Tata Harper that I was afraid of flying, seeing the farm was well-worth the week of apprehension.

SKINCARE | Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser (But It's So Much More!)

Remember a long time ago when I said I would review my entire Tata Harper collection? Well, it has been almost a year since my last Tata Harper review so apologies for that! At this point, the brand has grown so much since I started using the products, but it is still one of those brands that not everyone has tried mainly due to the hefty price point. While I would never push anyone to purchase luxury green beauty, incorporating healthier skincare has done wonders for my skin so I hope it does for any of you as well!

My second favourite Tata Harper product (after the Resurfacing Mask) is the Regenerating Cleanser (125mL/$104 CDN)** because like the Resurfacing Mask, it is like the everything product. It is SO MUCH MORE than just a cleanser! Not only does it cleanse the skin, but acts as both a chemical and physical exfoliant using natural BHAs (willow bark extract) and pomegranate enzymes and perfectly round apricot seed powder. It can even be used as a mask when your skin is feeling congested as it contains pink clay from France! The first time I used it at Tata's Farm, the instant brightening effect and the citrus scent was intoxicating and I was grateful that it was good for daily use!

BODY | Tata Harper Smoothing Body Scrub

This is one of those posts where I am super unhappy with the photos. I have been trying to experiment with different product layouts, but I took a whackload of photos last year because I was trying to be productive and have the photos "just in case". Now, I have decided to focus on my flatlay game which has always been a challenge for me so thank you to those of you who have left encouraging comments on my IG photos! This also means that I mentally cannot "curate" more than three or four flatlays because I just find it so exhausting even though I have all of the "common" pieces that flatlays should have.

Mini rant aside, let's focus on more splurgeworthy products and add to this glorious CBB "Worth the Splurge" linky of products that has been MOST entertaining for my wallet. It has been a hot minute since I have chatted about Tata Harper here on Cosmetic Proof, but many of you know that I am a huge fan. I rebuy her products all the time despite the price tag because they really are effective and have worked for both myself and my husband, who grudgingly hates the face that the Tata Harper Repairative Moisturizer seems to keep his skin from breaking out. Obviously Tata is fantastic at skincare, but she also has some great body products so when she released her Smoothing Body Scrub (150mL/$95.00 CDN), the exfoliation fiend in me had to have it!

SKINCARE | Masking with My Tata Harper Trifecta

If you have been with me awhile, you will know that about five years ago, I used to work for Tata Harper. In fact, I was the first Canadian-based employee when the brand first launched in Sephora Canada! I took a year off to explore the world of beauty and skincare and even though it didn't quite work out, I look back on my days with the Tata team fondly and still buy her products because they are among what I call my "ground zero" products. These are the products that reset my skin when I can't quite figure out what's going on with it. I have reviewed a number of Tata Harper products over the years both through gratis (given to me while I was an employee) and purchased on my own and though there are certain products that do not agree with my skin or just don't do enough for the luxurious price tag, there are a few heroes that I have consistently repurchased and these masks are some my all-time favourites!

SKINCARE | Tata Harper Luminous Definition in "Very Bronzing" and "Very Illuminating" Review and Makeup Look

Last month I promised to review every single product from Tata Harper since I happen to HAVE EVERY SINGLE PRODUCT (post). This is hands-down one of my favourite product lines and working for them only made me love them more. I felt a bit weird reviewing their products when I was their brand ambassador, but now that I am back to being a consumer I feel like the bias has certainly lessened. Let me say that I only left Tata Harper because the travel was a bit much for me and I wanted a job that kept me more grounded. Literally. I have extremely fond memories of my time with Tata Harper (she was the one that taught me how to give mini facials!) and it gave me some amazing life experiences that I will never forget!

I received quite a bit of gratis as a brand ambassador, but I am actually going to start with two products that I recently purchased at Murale during a redemption event: Tata Harper Luminous Definition in Very Bronzing (5.5g/$48.00 CDN) and Very Illuminating (5.5g/$48.00 CDN).

SKINCARE | Tata Harper Volumizing Lip & Cheek Tint in Very Charming and Very Vivacious Review with Swatches

Tata Harper is a skincare company, but when they make a colour product, I pretty much have to have it since much of the same care that is taken to create a skincare product is put into something even as tiny as the Volumizing Lip & Cheek Tints ($50.00 CDN). I didn't actually get a chance to pick these up until after I had left TH because I was far more interested in their skincare, but they started to grow on me because I used the tints to touch up clients after mini facials and really loved how they looked on other people.

The Lip & Cheek Tints are one of the few products in the entire Tata Harper line that are vegetarian instead of vegan as they are made with beeswax. In total, there are six tints, some of which were not available in Canada at the time, but of the ones that were, Very Charming, a classic petal pink, and Very Vivacious, a rusty coral, were my favourites.

SKINCARE | Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask (Plus Honey Blossom Limited Edition!) Review - BHA and AHA All in One!

I have been waiting for this moment a long time. My first skincare review from Tata Harper Skincare. Seeing as how I have the entire product line, where to start seemed somewhat daunting, but I think the easiest way to begin is with the very FIRST product I tried - The Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask* (30mL/$80.00 CDN). This was the Elle Award Winner and voted one of Instyle's Best Beauty Buys in 2015 and when I was at the Tata Harper Farm and head office in Vermont (here), this was the product that everyone said I needed to try first. For anyone wary of starting a whole new skincare regime, what I call "peripheral" products such as masks, tend to be a nice way to get to know a line. I hope that because I once worked for Tata Harper that I can provide you all with an inside look into the company and give you THE MOST MASSIVE rundown on what the products are like as well as cool ways to put your products to use for your skin!

SKINCARE | Introduction to Tata Harper Skincare!

If you follow me on Instagram, I often rave and post about Tata Harper products as I was their brand representative last year. The fact that I am STILL talking about her products while no longer working for the company should prove how much I love and believe in her products! Like most skincare, some products work for me and some don't. Part of my blogging goal for this year is to focus on skincare that I truly LOVE and Tata Harper is one of them.

In Sephora, you can imagine how hard it is to distinguish between the seemingly THOUSANDS of skincare brands so what sets Tata Harper apart from all the others? If you look at the ingredients, Tata Harper is the ONLY all-natural skincare brand in the entire store. This means that there isn't a SINGLE synthetic ingredient. This is what the word "natural" truly means and hearing that term used so loosely to sell to clients irked me to no end. You will notice that many natural or organic lines, while having wonderful ingredients, will use a synthetic preservative (usually phenoxyethanol), but Tata Harper goes a step further and uses radish root as a preservative. This is only the second time I have seen a company use this and I'm sure there are more.

In addition to being truly all-natural, every product is ECO CERTIFIED, which is HUGE. I can go on and I will over the next YEAR as I review EVERY SINGLE PRODUCT that Tata Harper has made. Half of the products I received in gratis and the other half I purchased all on my own. This is natural skincare at a luxury price point so I hope my reviews will be educational as there aren't many blogger reviews out there especially for the higher ticket products like the Elixir Vitae ($438 CDN).

Below is a taste of what you will see on Cosmetic Proof this year!

EXPERIENCE | Tata Harper Total Complexion Reset Treatment at Collective Skincare

It's a bit weird to say, but I've never actually had a real "Tata Harper Facial". Having worked for the company in the past, I would GIVE mini facials and use the products myself, but I never had an official facial experience until last month at Collective Skin Care in honor of the Tata Harper Total Complexion Reset Treatment launched just this month. This is a 100% natural multi-acid peel containing 22 high performance ingredients that evens and brightens skin tone all without a stitch of pain, redness or having to hide in your house all day. In fact, the only day I could do this was the day I had a meeting with the VP of my work right after the facial. I had THAT much trust in Tata that my face would not be the colour of a tomato when I got back!

SKINCARE | 5 Facial Oils That You May Want in Your Life

I love that facial oils are more common and seen as more acceptable in a skincare routine. I tend to use oils in place of moisturizer on days that I have sheet masked (I guess that's almost everyday?) if my sheet mask is on the more hydrating side. There are so many options and scents to choose from now that I realized I was using quite a number and hadn't really talked about them all in one place before so today I've got everything from drugstore to luxury beauty pricing!

SKINCARE | My Summer Skincare Routine (Other than Sheet Masks!)

Gone are the days where I used to do single skincare product reviews! I personally have found round-ups a bit more helpful unless it's a single amazing product that can truly stand on its own because of the price, ingredients or mode of operation.  I also like seeing how people are using various types of products together and now that I am older and more proactive about my skin and health in general, I am hoping some of you might find my skincare routine interesting too!

BEAUTY | 13 Travel Essentials

By the time this post goes up, I will be on flight to sunny, I mean snowy Montreal! Flying is hard for me as I get incredibly anxious whenever I have to travel so I tend to anticipate every possible need I may have including items for surviving the flight itself. I have MANY essentials, but have narrowed it down to a mere 13 items just to make this a post instead of a novel!

NAILS | Karma Organic Acetone-Free Soybean Nail Polish Remover Review

Normally, I would never write about nail polish removers because in the end it's all kind of the same, right? You all know that I love nails, nail art and nail polish. Cosmetic Proof began primarily as a nail polish blog and I vowed that no one would ever see my face - just my left claw, but I am glad that I moved into makeup because blogging is now 1000x more fun/taking over every square inch of space!

I do my nails about 2-3x per week which may not sound like much, but multiply that by weeks and years and that means a lot of acetone on the nails which is incredibly drying. You DO NOT want to see what my nails look like after a round of acetone. I have a few non-acetone nail polish removers, but I rarely use them because they never seemed all that effective. A few years ago, I tried a natural brand and that was a total disaster as I had to actually leave the remover on my nails for couple of minutes before my all creme nail polish even budged! Suffice it say, I like acetone.

SKINCARE | East 29th Valia Cleanser and Verse Lotion Mist

Purchased by me

It has been far too long since I have featured this lovely Vancouver-based brand on the blog, but if you have not tried East 29th's Vital Serum, you and your skin are missing out! Since being introduced to the product via East 29th owner, Victoria Ferguson, I have gone through 4 bottles of it and absolutely do not plan on stopping! For a little while, this was their only product, but then came the Valia Cleanser and Verse Lotion Mist which I am finally going to review today!

HAIR | Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Collection

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Collection

Back in my Tata Harper days, whenever I had a shift at Sephora Pacific Centre, the Tata Harper end cap was always close in proximity to the luxury haircare brand Alterna. I had never heard of the brand until a couple of years ago and when I started looking into it, I put it on my wishlist, but because of the price point I could never decide which products to try. Now, I am more willing to spend on haircare, but mainly on treatments and masks versus shampoos.

EMPTIES | April 2026 (Where Finishing a NARS Blush Took 6 Months!)

Coming at this a little bit later than I had wanted, but OMG has it been a busy last 3 weeks! There has just been a lot going on at work with my day job with events and helping with a new store opening so I have been trying to pack as much as I can into my work day and then coming home a total zombie. I have a few vacation days booked this week so I am hoping to recoup some energy and rest as the week AFTER is going to be really hectic again as I will be working out of a the new Chaumet at Oakridge for the week for their opening!

# Skincare = 6

Favourites from this pile were the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen which I had amazingly never tried before and the Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash which was one of the nicest foaming face washes I have ever used! The Tata Harper Regnerating Cleanser has been a favourite of mine since I worked for the brand in 2015 and I always repurchase it whenever there is a sale on the Tata Harper website since you get waaaay more GWPs there compared to Sephora.

SKINCARE | The Sunday Riley Routine

Sunday Riley Skincare

I first heard of Sunday Riley in 2015 when I was working for Tata Harper as Good Genes was a competing product to the Resurfacing Mask because of the way it gently exfoliates. Even after leaving Tata Harper, I never really thought too much about the brand not because I didn't like it, but I just didn't know enough about it for me to take a deep dive, especially because their products are luxuriously priced! In one of my last press events for 2020, the Sunday Riley team held a Sunday Brunch event in January 2020 to celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rat and I have FINALLY used all of the products they gave us!

SKINCARE | Kalleis Cosmetics - Made in Italy and New to Canada!

It is pretty clear that I am a serious skincare lover and I was recently introduced to Italian brand, Kalleis, at the end of August and have been using a couple of their products for the last two months. Founded in 2008 in the city of Vicenza by Maria "Carla" Cattaneo and her husband Gianfranco Baldo, the word Kalleis comes from a blend  of the words "kalos" and "eleis" meaning "beautiful" and "olive". Extra virgin olive oil is at the heart of the formulations for each Kalleis product which historically was used to soothe and in combating the signs of aging.

While most of the ingredients used by Kalleis are plant-based, the brand does not shy away from technology and using what scientific innovations have emerged in the world of skincare to ensure that their products are effective as well. I have been using a couple of products over the last two months now and I think I have a pretty good idea of what has been working for me and hopefully some of you!

KBEAUTY | Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop #LunarFebruary

In the Korean beauty world, there are some cult products that always get talked about, that everyone reviews and because of that, I have tuned out. While I have always known Klairs to be a solid brand, I guess there was always a more interesting KBeauty product to try since something innovative comes out everytime I scroll through Instagram! Recently, Wishtrend invited members of the CBB to review the December featured product: Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop*! This is a daily essence made with 5% L-Ascorbic Acid (the active form) and Centella Asiatica extract which is an antioxidant and incredible moisturizer with soothing properties. This is an ingredient I see often in Asian skincare and I just realized this is also known as "gotu kola" which I actually AM familiar with through some of Tata Harper's skincare and I love this stuff!
